I have wanted to write about this for a while.

It seems like it is taken for granted to hear “short staff,” etc. Everywhere: airlines, pharmacies, stores, retail, even Dunkin Donuts — every area. Mail delivery is affected, hospitals, and on and on.

My question is, why?

Jobs are available and the pay is good. Training is available.

Why?

I am told by some, “well, they get more money by staying home.”

Really? How is that possible?

How can people continue to be eligible for aid? There are jobs.

How and who is paying people to do nothing?

Those of us who worked all our lives — my mom “retired” at age 80 — we needed our jobs if we wanted to eat, and have a place to live. We had pride.

I hear there are two jobs for every unemployed person. So why is this happening?

Why is it continuing?

I wish someone would explain. And tell me how it continues, and why it is not being fixed.

I wonder how many others are disgusted.

I realize there are people who need the benefits; I’m not talking about them.
