Julie Day Smith

LIVERMORE FALLS – Julie Day Smith, 79, a resident of Livermore Falls passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 17, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 29, 1942, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the daughter of James B. Day and Mary Julia (Smith) Day. She was a 1961 graduate of Mexico High School. On March 17, 1973, in Jay, she married Gary L. Smith. They enjoyed 49 years together before his passing on April 20, 2022. She worked driving bus for 35 years for the Jay schools and the Head Start program in Turner. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3335 Auxiliary in Jay. She enjoyed crafts, camping, wintering in Florida and especially spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim Gagnon and husband Reggie of Navarre, Fla.., Tammy Smith of Jay, sons, Bill Millett and wife Dee of Scarborough, Jamie Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jason Smith and wife Christy of Navarre, Fla., 14 grandchildren, Lacie Blanchard, Shane Gagnon, Cody Jacques, Brooklyn Fournier, Tyler Millett, Rachael Millett Provencher, Ben, Emily and Olivia Smith, Colby, Jayden, Dylan, Brendyn and Brody Smith, six great-grandchildren, Leilah “Louis” Larrabee, Caden Blanchard, Ryker Blanchard, Charlotte Millett, Logan Smith, and Mila Jacques, sisters, Sarah Russell and husband Robert of Mexico, and Gerry Ramsdall of Rumford.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Gary, sister, Dorothy Mae Day, and her grandmother Julia Higgins Smith. Messages of condolence may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, July 22, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., prior to the funeral service.
