Rand W. Cook
AUBURN – Rand W. Cook, 80, of Auburn, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Bolster Heights Residential Care in Auburn. Born in Lewiston on Nov. 3, 1941, he was the son of Walter and Nettie Cook. He was educated in local schools. On Feb. 28, 1962, he married the love of his life, Blanche Robinson. Rand worked in the local shoe industry for several years, and then worked as an apple farmer, Cooper Orchards of Buckfield and then onto the City of Auburn until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and had a passion for building beautiful stone walls. He also enjoyed sitting on his front porch and telling jokes.
Besides his loving wife of Auburn, he is survived by a son, Scott Cook and wife Donna of Tennessee, four daughters, Sally Wood and husband Will of Oxford, Penny Redmond and husband Patrick of Litchfield, Tina Bartlett and husband Sean of Minot and Cindy Watson and husband Ed of Mechanic Falls. Two brothers, Jerry and wife Laurie, Paul and wife Judy, and sister in law Donna, and sister in law Norma, fifteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, son Randy W. Cook, a grandson Gene Burns Jr., his brothers, John (Leon) and Jerry, and his two sisters, Beverly and Annette.
Services will be held at Hosanna Church, 109 Schoolhouse Road, Oxford at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 23, with a graveside service to follow at 1 p.m., at Buckfield Village Cemetery. Memories may be shared at http://www.albert-burpee.com.
