Brandon Pelletier puts American flags into a custom-built “flag burner” Thursday at a disposal ceremony at the Auburn Masonic Hall. At 38 years old, Pelletier found himself one of the youngest members of the group of veterans and Freemasons. “People my age aren’t stepping up to the plate in these organizations,” he said. He organized the building of the flag burner with donated materials and fabrication by Dana’s Heavy Duty Roadside Service. The group disposed of about 3000 flags from veterans’ graves on Memorials Day in years past. Andree Kehn/Sun Journal
