The loss of our dear friend and champion for community needs,  Beth Brunswick,  led to the creation of a committee to help fulfill her vision for the Rangeley Community.  Established in her name upon her passing, the Beth Brunswick Memorial Fund will be dedicated to fulfilling Beth’s vision.

Helping others was far and away Beth’s first calling in life. Even in her final days, Beth’s thoughts were on the unmet needs of the Rangeley community including the lack of childcare options for working parents.  In fact, she considered it one of the region’s most pressing needs today.  Weeks before her passing, Beth shared her vision for a place where children would be able to experience enriching opportunities throughout the day.  The Beth Brunswick Memorial Fund has been established in her memory to create a safe place for all children to learn, grow and develop.  This community wide effort will serve as a lasting memory of Beth’s love for children, wellness, and the Rangeley region.

The committee is actively researching the demand for child care from age six weeks through the teen years, including summer, before and after school, as well as work day needs. All options are being considered. A survey and interviews with local families will be conducted this summer, with hopes of reaching a conclusion by October on the best path forward to serve those who live and work in Rangeley.  Collaboration with existing child care operations is fundamental to the committee’s conclusions; as is partnership with other organizations that are exploring similar projects.

We encourage your input and ideas. Please email the committee with your suggestions at  bethsvision4rangeley@gmail.com, and be on the lookout for the survey.

All donations can be sent to Beth Brunswick Memorial Fund, PO Box 772, Rangeley, ME 04970.
