This year, we selected Judy Quimby whose husband, Richard “Doc” Quimby passed away last year.  Judy is in her 80’s and we scraped, primed, and stained both her house and garage (Dave Rossi, Rossi Painting); painted many interior walls (Doug Gage, Lester Gage Painting)  jacked and leveled the house (Ryan Thompson); tore out carpets and replaced them with new wood floors (materials donated by Don and Blue Smith) labor provided by (Rusty Shorey Construction); a new driveway and parking lot plus installation of a new septic tank and leach field (installed by Billy Mercier/M&S Excavators and TA Morgan); extensive yard work such as tree pruning and landscaping (provided by Steve Power Landscaping); recaptured the gardens (by Jake Farmer/horticulturist); sheet rocked the interior (by Seth Laliberte); food and drinks provided by the Rangeley IGA, signage and design (Sign Works), dumpster and garbage removal provided by Archie’s,  hearth pad provided by Blue Flame Gas, Shane Jones who will be removing the larges tree leaning up against the house next week, and overall project manager was Chris Farmer, along with many, many volunteers.

Both local banks, Skowhegan Savings Bank and Franklin Savings Bank participated in the entire project.  Much appreciated!

In addition to the local donations, many large insurance companies have made generous monetary donations and manpower.  One person from Merchants Insurance came to spend the day along side six volunteers from all over New England representing, Main Street America Insurance (NGM).
