Wallace Henry Antone

CHESTERVILLE – On the morning of July 20, 2022 Wallace Henry Antone, 72, woke from a peaceful night’s sleep at home in his bed in the arms of his Lord.

Wally was born on August 15, 1949 in Eastport to Elizabeth and Sheldon Antone. On March 2, 1968 in Turner he married the love of his life, Susan Cooper. For four years, he served in the U.S. Navy. He and Susan lived in Chesterville for 45 years where they raised their six children.

Wally’s work ethic was exceptional. He was an exemplary employee in the service industry for years. He was especially proud of his work in the service and warranty department and as truck shop manager at Lee Auto Mall in Auburn. Wally loved sports and actively played ball for many years. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox and the New England Patriots. His love of the Lord permeated his life. Having a true servant’s heart, wherever he was, he blessed his church family in many ways over the years. He was a gift to so many and he will be greatly missed.

Wally is survived by Susan, his wife of 54 years; a daughter, Jessica (Steve) Antone-Shaw, son, Leaman (Abigail) Antone, daughter, Alecia (Toby) Pineo, son, Dylan (Valorie) Antone, daughter, Bethany (Cea Jay) Antone-Pitcher and son, Isaiah Antone. He was the proud grandfather of 10 grandsons; four granddaughters; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his sister, Suzanne (Paul) Dalrymple, sister, Barbara (William) Austin, stepsister, Rosalie (Lloyd) Perkins, brothers-in-law Michael (Susan Schell) Cooper and Henry (Vicki) Cooper, sister-in-law, Marnie (Jonathan) Cooper-Priest; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Wallace and Alice McGlauflin; mother Elizabeth, father Sheldon, stepfather Hugh Stewart, father-in-law Everard ‘Doc’ Cooper, mother-in-law Elizabeth Joan Cooper; stepsister Gloria Barr, brother-in-law William Austin; nephew Russell Greenwood, nephew Donald Hunter, Jr.; and many aunts, uncles; and extended family.

A private burial will be held the morning of July 30 at the family cemetery.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday July 30 from Fayette Baptist Church, 39 Baldwin Hill Rd., Fayette ME 04349. A reception will be held immediately following the services.
