Bell Hill Meetinghouse

OTISFIELD — The 108th Annual Program of the Bell Hill Meetinghouse Association will be held on Sunday, July 31 at 4 p.m. at the Bell Hill Meetinghouse in Otisfield. All are welcome to attend this fun and relaxed event.

Mr. Bernard Fishman, Museum Director of the Maine State Museum will be the featured speaker. Mr. Fishman will give a lively talk on the history of Maine, illustrated with slides of interesting and unusual objects at the Museum. The Maine State Museum, founded in 1836, is America’s oldest state museum. Mr. Fishman is the author of A Story of Maine in 112 Objects.

A choral group from Camp Arcadia will entertain us with a selection of camp songs before we gather on the Common for our traditional ice cream social.

The Meetinghouse and adjacent Schoolhouse will both be open for tours. Both were built in 1839 and both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Meetinghouse is located at 191 Bell Hill Road in Otisfield. There is no charge for this event, but donations are gratefully accepted. For more information, call Polly at 207-653-0262.
