PARIS — The 5th Paris Hill Music Festival is right around the corner, on August 5 & 6, and promises an affordable and fun experience for the whole family. The event is again located at the historic Paris Hill Country Club, in the Town of Paris – a hidden gem even to locals.

“There are people who have lived in the [Oxford Hills] area for most of their lives who have never been up there to see the beauty, historical significance and envision the opportunity for events like weddings and other gatherings like this music festival,” says Nancy Cushman, the event director.

Friday, August 5 is the perfect time to check out Paris Hill Country Club, especially if you like rock and disco. Opening the 5th Paris Hill Music Festival at 5 p.m. for a return performance is LaTCH. This group of talented musicians from Western and Central Maine pounds out a base of solid for rock singer Leah Licata to belt out classics and all-time favorites.

Headlining at 7 p.m., the ultimate disco party band, Motor Booty Affair, will hit the stage in bell bottoms, platform shoes, and polyester for a spectacular 1970s extravaganza, featuring the most danceable songs of all time. The four “Funkateers” deliver hits from Earth, Wind & Fire, The Bee-Gees, KC and the Sunshine Band, Chic, The Commodores, Barry White, Abba, and more. Dance the night away to classic music “authentically reproduced by these top-notch musicians with unsurpassed quality and attention to detail.”

The festival continues on Saturday, August 6 at 5 p.m. with a band that has become a regular in the Maine music scene. The Cobblestones play a variety of songs from artists such as Mary Chapin Carpenter, Natalie Merchant, Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan, Bonnie Raitt, and many more. You’ll recognize many songs but you won’t hear the same songs that other bands play. Their sets include some of today’s most talented songwriters and even a few new originals.

Headlining at 7 p.m. is IMAGINE the Beatles Solo years, a show created by singer-songwriter Joe Boucher of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, the creator of Piano Men – the Music of Elton and Billy and Classic Rock Orchestra. Hear songs like favorites ‘Band on the Run’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘It don’t come easy’, ‘Imagine’ and many more performed by a seasoned group of top-quality musicians.

The festival is also presenting new arts and crafts vendors in addition to the food and drinks vendors. Norway Savings Bank, Cross Insurance, Baker Newman & Noyes, and Oxford Federal Credit Union all stepped forward to help make this event happen.
