NORWAY — The crew pictured here, had just installed (on July 22) erosion control “socks” on Crocket Ridge Road to help prevent erosion.
The tubular socks are filled with mulch and installed on slopes where they help slow the flow of water down steep slopes, filter the water,
and help reduce the entry of phosphorus into Norway Lake. This is the first step in efforts to stabilize this area.
The Lakes Association appreciates the town’s support in its efforts to protect the health of the lake.
Erosion control, both on private property and on public roads, is one way in which the health of lakes can be promoted for all users.
