The North Auburn Grange will hold its annual outing at Bear Pond, Saturday, August 13. William Bennett will make a round trip for those who are unable to obtain proper vehicles.
50 years Ago: 1972
Heavy equipment and several men are currently involved with preparing the Plummer and Merrill Funeral Home at 212 Turner Street, Auburn for the short jaunt it’ll take across the street to an awaiting foundation. The garage will be separated from the main building. The move, which is to be completed in two parts, was made necessary because the funeral home lies in the way of the Union Street Bypass.
25 Years Ago: 1997
The Community Little Theatre production of the musical “Li’l Abner” will open tonight at Great Falls School on Academy Directed by CLT veteran Renee Mahon, the musical comedy revolves around life in Dogpatch, USA. Tonight’s performance begins at 8 o’clock. Another performance: will be given Saturday at 8 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. The musical features Joe Cormier in the title role, with Alecia Daigle in the role of Daisy Mae.
