Eva Jane Bamford

PORTLAND – Eva Jane Bamford, 80, formerly of Auburn, died peacefully in her sleep on July 18, 2022, at the Portland Center for Assisted Living. Born in Lewiston on Aug. 25, 1941, she was the daughter of Harold E. and Ada L. Vining Bamford. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, class of ‘60, the Auburn School of Commerce, 1963, and the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Education, 1965. She was very proud of her time teaching as an employee of New Jersey at the Berkeley School.

She is survived by a brother, Daniel Bamford, a sister-in-law, Mary Bamford (widow of the late John Bamford), a niece, Johnna Bamford Ferland and husband Paul, and two step-nephews, Woody Gould and wife Judy, and Carl Dill and wife Spring. Also surviving are many great-nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as her special friend and roommate Brenda, and many other friends at the Portland Center for Assisted Living.

A small graveside service will take place Saturday, August 13, 11 a.m., at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, 200 Mt. Auburn Road, Auburn.
