One of your published letters claimed Eric Brakey, if elected to the Maine Senate, will fight for Mainers’ rights as he did for the rights of those who want to carry a concealed gun without a permit.

Ten years ago, Brakey came to Maine and served as state director of the failed Libertarian Ron Paul for President campaign. Two years later, he won a seat in Maine’s House of Representatives and was appointed Republican co-chair of the Health and Human Services Committee.

As co-chair, he was silent when Riverview lost accreditation for reported mistreatment of patients and then when Gov. LePage cut funding for public health and child protections services.

Brakey has run unsuccessfully for election to the U.S. Senate in 2018, U.S House in 2020 and then Maine Secretary of State. My question is, if elected to any office, whose rights would he protect beyond those who want to hide their guns?
