Thank you, dear Sun Spots, for helping us spread the word. — No Name, Auburn

ANSWER: That sounds like a fun time. If there’s anyone out there in Sun Spots Land who doesn’t know about the Make-A-Wish Foundation, it is a 501 nonprofit organization that helps fulfill the wishes of children with a critical illness between the ages of 2½ and 18 years old.

For more information, visit https://wish.org/. There you will find how to donate, refer a child who needs wishes granted, become a corporate partner, volunteer, and more.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: For 20 years we stored a car at Neil Martin’s Goldenrod Garage in Freeport. Unfortunately, Neil died in the fall of 2020 and we lost a good friend, and our storage location.

Last year, with your help, we found a couple in Lewiston who stored our car from mid-September 2021 until mid-June of this year. However, this couple sold their house, so storage with them is no longer available.

We have a camp in Rangeley that we use in the three summer months and live in Savannah, Georgia, the other nine months. We are looking for an indoor storage location for our car for nine months within a reasonable driving distance to Portland’s airport.

Last fall, we paid the Lewiston couple $400 for the storage at their home garage in Lewiston, plus an additional $100 to drive us to Portland’s airport in September 2021 when we returned to Georgia, and to pick us up when we returned to Maine this past June.

Does someone have an indoor place to store our vehicle for nine months, or can a reader recommend someone who could help us? Our number is 864-3155. — Jerome, Rangeley

ANSWER: I remember you and I’m so glad you found a good solution for safely storing your vehicle. It sounded quite ideal and I love that you did some thinking “outside the box” to make it advantageous for everyone involved.

So this request goes out to Sun Spots Land where I know it will be answered by the perfect person and all will be well — your vehicle will be under cover, and you can “fly south” with no worries. Let us know how it goes!
