STATE — SeniorsPlus, Western Maine’s designated Area Agency on Aging, and AARP are collaborating to assist individuals file tax returns in order to qualify for the state of Maine’s $850 inflation-relief check. Appointments are available Thursdays, August 11 and 18 between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the 8 Falcon Road, Lewiston, headquarters of SeniorsPlus. To be eligible for the state of Maine’s $850 inflation-relief check, residents must first file a 2021 Maine income tax return by October 31, 2022. Call SeniorsPlus at 207-795-4010 to schedule an appointment.
