Paula Anne Paladino
LEWISTON – Paula Anne Paladino, 59, of Lewiston, passed away Aug. 17, 2022, at Androscoggin Hospice.
Born in Stoneham, Mass., Paula was the daughter of the late Paul H. Mortensen, a decorated World War II and Korean Veteran, and the late Sarah MacDonald Morentsen, mother of seven children.
Paula’s career spanned 25-plus years of both governmental and non-profit experience in social programs including child welfare, mental health, homeless services, and LGBTQ issues.
Paula held a Master of Arts degree from John F. Kennedy University, Orinda, Calif. and a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, Tempe, Ariz.
Paula loved dogs and had four (three labs and one adopted rescue Beagle) as well as two independent cats. Cooking was a major pastime of hers and she was proud to share her food with others. Road trips, nature walks, swimming and exploring nature were some of her favorite things to do. Going out to eat on road trips was especially fun with her mother along for the trip. Paula was married to Henry Paladino, her best friend for 15 years and continued to maintain a good relationship with him over the years.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Susan A. Rodrigue of Auburn, sister, Karen Mortensen of Lewiston; and cousin, Glenn Stewart of Quebec.
Survivors include her sisters Linda and Wendy Mortensen of Lewiston and brothers Eric Paul Mortensen of Greene and Dana Michael Mortensen of Auburn.
