Marilyn E. Gagnon

LEWISTON – Heaven gained the most beautiful angel on Aug. 13, 2022 when Marilyn E. Gagnon passed away at the age of 76. She was born in Lewiston on April 25, 1946 to the parents of Eva (Dumont) and Omer Daigle.

At the young age of 16, Marilyn met her soon to be husband, Armand. On Aug. 17, 1963 they were married surrounded by their loving family and friends. Marilyn became the mother to five children and was the primary homemaker. She took great pride in keeping a tidy home for her whole life, keeping to a routine cleaning schedule which she did not deviate from.

Early in her years she enjoyed the company of her large family, crocheting, and reading. She enjoyed music, singing to herself, and most of all, dancing with her husband of 59 years. Later in life she enjoyed the quieter and simple things like going out for breakfast and the frequent coffee date with her husband. Marilyn will be remembered having the biggest heart and a kind, gentle soul.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Armand Gagnon Sr.; her children Armand “Pete” Gagnon Jr. of Lisbon, Cherielynn Gagnon of Etna, Peggy and husband Mike Mailloux of Turner, Daryll Gagnon of Lewiston, and Eric Gagnon and wife Rebecca of Auburn; her grandchildren, Tyler “TJ” Gagnon, Brandon Hinkley, Keaton Gagnon, Jake Mailloux, Amanda Hinkley, Brad Gagnon, Teila Rowe, and Josh Mailloux; and 20 great-grandchildren; her brothers Larry Daigle and wife, Anita of Auburn, Vernon Daigle of Lewiston, Reynold Daigle and wife, Claire of Connecticut.

Marilyn was also predeceased by her sisters Pauline “Doreen” Gagnon, Priscilla Viens, Alice Vaillancourt; and her brothers Maurice, Albert, Normand, Donald, and Stanley Daigle.

To honor Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no services. We ask that you celebrate her memory in your own ways. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
