WILTON — The Wilton Town Office has closed due to a COVID-19 outbreak. A sign has been posted at the town office informing visitors the office is closed.

Town Manager Perry Ellsworth confirmed in an email that the outbreak started last Tuesday, Aug. 16, and all town office employees but one have since tested positive.

Currently, three office workers and the code enforcement officer are out, Ellsworth said. He added that a sewer operator was also out last week due to COVID-19.

Ellsworth said five days after his first positive test, he began testing negative.

He anticipates the office will reopen Thursday, Aug. 25.

“I hope that all our employees recover quickly,” he wrote.

He said he is not aware of any Selectpersons contracting COVID-19 after the Aug. 16 meeting.
