Rosemary Gerbutavich

BRIDGTON — Gallery 302 is pleased to welcome Artist Rosemary Gerbutavich. Rosemary has been a lifelong lover of the visual arts and since her retirement from a long and rewarding nursing career, she has been able to pursue her passion for watercolors. She is best known for her signature style of extending her images from the paper onto the matting. Her work is constructed by constant layering and adding various elements while building up texture and color. Her colorful patterns and exuberant images give the impression of simplicity and conveys a sense of mood that tells their own stories. Her approach has been described as “bright, bold colors with a whimsical expression which reflects her personality in both life and in art.” She explains, “inspiration for me can pop up at anytime or any place. I am not confined to one subject matter and have a preference for various themes. My work is both a challenge and a passion and my search is for images to express their moods where words fail.” Rosemary is a juried board member and Gallery Director of the Mt. Washington Valley Arts Association. She is also a juried member of the 302 Gallery, Bridgton. Her artwork can be viewed at both galleries.
