
TURNER — The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two drivers in Friday’s crash on Route 4 that left a woman dead.
Holly Woods of Peru was traveling northbound on Route 4 in a 2018 Kia Optima when Joshua Doughty of Poland fell asleep at the wheel of his 2020 Ford F-350 pickup truck, crossed the centerline and collided with her car, according to information released by the Sheriff’s Office.
Woods, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene. Doughty was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. near Scott’s Recreation and the intersection of Route 219 in Turner.
