The Lewiston-Auburn Maples’ home game scheduled for Sunday at the Lewiston Armory against the New Jersey Expressions has been canceled, the Maples announced on their social media channels Friday.
According to a post on the Maples’ Facebook page, “Unfortunately the New Jersey Expressions made the decision to not make the trip to fight for a playoff spot and have forfeited Sunday’s game. The game has been canceled.”
The post added that previously purchased tickets from Sunday’s game, as well as those for the Aug. 7 game that was also canceled, will be honored at the Maples’ next game, which is a scheduled playoff game Sunday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. against the Mount Vernon Shamrocks.
