RUMFORD – It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald James Dragoon on Aug. 29, 2022.
Donald was born on July 7, 1931, in Mexico, to Isadore and Stella (Yakstas) Dragoon. He was educated in Peru and Mexico schools and graduated from Mexico High School in 1949. Donald enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Germany as a Corporal with the 184th Medical Company.
Donald returned to Mexico and went to work in the Oxford paper Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family camp at Worthley Pond. In retirement Donald became a fan of motor cycling, snowmobiling and ATV-ing. He was a self-taught cook who specialized in Lithuanian Kugela.
Donald was predeceased by his parents, his sister Marion and her husband R. Louis Clohosey.
Our “Uncle Tim” will be missed by Donna and Michael Whalen, James and Gail Clohosey, Linda Clohosey and Susan Quintiliani, Edward and Janice Clohosey, Dickie and Wanda Cote and their families. He is also survived by several cousins.
The family is especially grateful to the caring staffs of Rumford Hospital and Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice.
Private services will be held at the family’s convenience. Interment will be in St John Cemetery in Rumford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
