Marcel D. Pessant
DURHAM – Marcel D. Pessant, 81, passed away at home on Sept. 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lewiston, March 15, 1941, the son of Maurice and Cecil Pessant.
Marcel served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer. After being honorably discharged, he worked at LL Bean for 26 years.
He was a devoted family man who enjoyed dancing, bird watching, card games, martial arts, and trips to Old Orchard Beach.
Marcel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha (Larrabee) Pessant; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Deborah) Crocker, and Donna Welch; one son, Jonathan Pessant; two sisters, Mrs. Fernand (Jacqueline) Charest and Mrs. Johnny (Denise) North; five grandchildren, Scott Welch, Amanda McCormick, Laura Webster, Samantha Couste, and Stephanie Hayslip; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Mark; and two brothers, Paul and Laurier.
A graveside service will be held at Sawyer Cemetery on Royalsborough Road (Rt. 136) in Durham on Saturday, September 17, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in the care and direction of Funeral Alternatives, 46 Bath Road, Brunswick. Condolences may be shared at FuneralAlternatives.net.
