OTISFIELD — The congregation of the Spurr’s Corner Church plans to officially celebrate its 150th anniversary Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18, at 1005 State Route 121.

On Saturday, a Community Fun Day will begin at 2 p.m. on the church grounds. Activities for children and families will include a bounce house, games and face painting, according to a news release from the church.

A Cruise-In Car Show is set for 3-5 p.m. at the fire department across the road. The day will conclude with a community supper at 5 p.m. in the church basement.

There also will be a historical display in the sanctuary, including old photographs, historical items, and a video concerning the congregation’s history. The sanctuary will be open from 2 to 5 p.m.

On Sunday, there will be a community church service, including introduction of former pastors/wives, music, congregational singing, a baptism, and a brief meditation from Pastor Rick Mowery.

It begins at 10 a.m., and will be followed by a reception of coffee, punch, doughnuts, cake and conversation.

The theme for the celebration is Celebrating 150 Years of God’s Faithfulness. Members are commemorating their congregation’s long-standing involvement and relationship with the local community. The people of Otisfield and its surrounding communities are invited to join the celebration. All events are free.
