Arlene Elsie (Staples) Dube

AUBURN – Arlene Elsie (Staples) Dube, 91 of Livermore, Maine, peacefully passed from this world to be with her Lord and Savior early Thursday morning, Sept. 15, 2022. At the time of her passing she was receiving her care at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, Maine.

Arlene was born May 20, 1931, in Chisholm, Maine. She was raised by her grandparents, Ethel (Davis) and Everett Staples. She graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1949.

In 1952 she married Lucien (Joe Pete) Dube in Livermore Maine. They lived in Tacoma, Washington for two years while Lucien served in the United States Air Force. They have since made their home in Livermore.

Arlene was employed at Otis Federal Credit Union in Jay, Maine, for 24 years retiring in 1993 as a loan officer.

Arlene was an active member of North Livermore Baptist Church where she served on various committees and boards throughout her entire adult life. Arlene’s strong faith and strong commitment to Christ was evident in how she lived her life, full of love and kindness, so generous and forgiving. Arlene’s service heart extended beyond caring for those in her family. She was humbly devoted to serving others whether it was dropping off a meal, giving others a ride to appointments and church, and visiting those in the nursing homes. Arlene was known as a faithful prayer warrior believing in the power of prayer.

Arlene had a love for adventure and enjoyed taking many trips with her husband and family over the years creating lasting memories of special times that will be treasured by her family.

Arlene was a member of King’s Daughters and Sons, Mizpah Circle and Mary Dillingham-Burnt Meadow Chapter, NSDAR.

Arlene had many interests and hobbies, she loved bird watching, crocheting for others. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed daily long walks for as long as she was able. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished their visits, welcoming them with genuine compassion.

She is survived by her husband Lucien Dube of Livermore, sons, William Dube and wife Candy of Sangerville, Wayne Dube and wife Mary of Livermore Falls, daughters, Sherry Newdick and husband Gary of Nokomis, Florida. Susan Lyons and husband Prince of Livermore, and a sister-in-law Carol Jackson of Clearmont, Florida. Grandchildren Christina Padillia of Tallahassee Florida, Jennnifer Staggs and husband Jeff of Sabattus, Terry Dube and wife Rachel of Kaufman, Texas, Trista Gray and husband Ryan of Green, Alison Higgins and husband Joe of Sidney, Stephanie Black and husband Chris of Winthrop, Angela Lake and fiancé Adam Sampson of Livermore Falls, Amanda Hubbell and husband Chris of Auburn and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her mother Verna Jackson, her grandparents, Everett and Ethel Staples, her sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Lawrence McNear, and a brother William Jackson. Messages of condolence may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at North Livermore Baptist Church, 619 Federal Road, Livermore, Maine. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m., at the church prior to the funeral service. Interment at Gibbs Mill Cemetery, Fish Meadow Road, Livermore, Maine will be held at a later date.
