Elissa Garabedian Lauze

LEWISTON – Elissa Garabedian Lauze, 72, a longtime Lewiston resident, passed into eternal rest on Sept. 9, 2022 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn after a brief illness. She was born on March 12, 1950 in Skowhegan and raised in Madison. She enjoyed cooking, riding in the pontoon boat and spending time with family and friends. Elissa dedicated her life to serving others and pursued a career in nursing, graduating from the Central Maine Medical Center College of Health Professionals as an RN in 1971. She worked in nursing for over 40 years, primarily as the Director of Nursing at the Auburn Nursing Home before her retirement. Her expertise, empathy, and service to patients, family and friends cannot be replaced and will be sorely missed by all.

Our hearts are broken.

She was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Andrew Garabedian of Madison.

She leaves her beloved husband of 44 years, Peter Lauze, daughter Katherine Lauze and son-in-law Jon Anctil of Lewiston.

She also leaves her daughter Tammy (Gary) Allard and grandson Dustin Allard, four sisters, Rosemary (Rody) Fitzgibbon of North Windham, Rebecca Bellefleur of Madison, Deborah (Glenn) Gianini of Manchester, and Vanessa (Frank) Bishop of Madison, sisters-in-law Evelyn (Paul Cyr) Lauze of Greene, Dorothy Lauze of Lewiston, brother-in-law Mac Lauze of Lewiston, eight nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
