One of my primary concerns in the coming election is how to affect a change in the cost of electricity in Maine.
As retired consumers living in a rural area, my husband and I have been negatively affected by a very large increase in our electric bill. The introduction of solar farms has been somewhat helpful, but we are feeling the effects of the increase and think we need a state government that will help us.
Bettyann Sheats, the Democratic candidate for state Senate District 20, has the support of the Sierra Club and the Maine Conservation voters because of her past legislative record as a supporter of Maine’s environment.
As a member of Maine’s governing body we think Bettyann would continue to support the environmental issues that are so important to us. Issues like affordable energy and reducing its cost to consumers.
