LISBON FALLS – Dorothy E. McCrater, 89, of Lisbon Falls passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at the Clover Health Care Facility.

Dorothy Eleanor Pelkey McCrater was born July 3, 1933 in Etna to Leslie John Pelkey and Nina Edna Shorette Pelkey. Dorothy was educated in Newport and finished school and graduated in Lisbon Falls. She married David Allen McCrater Sr. Aug. 9, 1951. They made their first home in Lisbon Falls where they raised their three children.

She was predeceased by her husband, David in April 29 2010; her parents; her brothers, Wilfred “Dick” Pelkey, Leslie John Pelkey “Jr”, Frank Robert Pelkey “Bobby”, and William Francis Pelkey “Billy”; four sisters, Nellie Edna Hanson, Elizabeth Mae Roberts, Anne Christine Mclntire, Delana Marie Skelton “Tidley”.

She survived by her two daughters, Julie Upton and her husband Kyle of Mississippi, Cynthia McCrater of Lisbon Falls, her son, David A. McCrater II and his wife Sharon of Lisbon; four grandchildren, Haley McCrater of Wales, Alison, Brian and Eric Merryman; several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 at Crosman Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Lisbon Falls where a service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday.
