Rosanne Ducey

LITCHFIELD – Rosanne Ducey, 73, died at home in Litchfield on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022. Rosanne was born in Spokane, Wash. and spent most of her early years in Turlock, Calif. She was one of five children born to Edward O. Ducey and Catherine Lane Ducey, growing up in a house full of life and love.

Rosanne loved to teach, spending many years teaching at St. Dominic’s Academy as well as coaching both soccer and basketball. She employed the Socratic method to great effect. Exciting others about ideas and dilemmas through questions, Rosanne allowed each person to come to answers at their own pace. This was extremely successful with her students and loved ones, but worked less well with her beloved dogs Zoey and Fitz. She believed firmly in living one’s best life and encouraged all she encountered to strive for that.

Rosanne was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Daniel Ducey and Mike Ducey, and sister-in-law Marnelle Vieira-Ducey. She is survived by her husband Michael Murray, her brother Denis Ducey, sister-in-law Michelle Chenal-Ducey, brother Thomas Ducey and sister-in-law Julie Giles; her daughter Sarah and her husband Robert, her daughter Anna, her son Adam and his wife Aman, her son Ben, her son Seth and his wife Joanne, and her son Peter and his wife Bethany; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and many grandchildren.
