Normand B. Lecomte Sr.

LEWISTON – Normand B. Lecomte Sr., 91, of Lewiston, Maine passed away on Oct. 1, 2022, having been preceded the year before by the love of his life, wife Beatrice, to whom he was married for 65 blissful years.

He was born to parents Alfonse and Yvonne Lecomte on July 16, 1931, in Auburn, Maine, where he grew up and attended St. Peter’s Elementary School and graduating from Assumption High School in Massachusetts. After graduating from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, which he attended on an academic scholarship while playing football, he was drafted and served in the Korean War.

Upon returning to Auburn he married the lovely Beatrice and worked as a financial planner and sales manager for Prudential until his retirement at 55.

Being the good French Catholic, he and Beatrice raised a family of six children: Dianne, Nannette, Normand Jr., Robert, Susan and Lisa; at the time of his death they had fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Normand was a dedicated husband and father who was active in his children’s lives. For many years he was busy as a little league baseball and football coach and loved to stay in shape running, skiing and hiking. Up to his final weeks you would still see him out for his daily half mile walk which he attributed to his long life. Although he did not make it to his goal of 100 years, it was a life fully and well-lived.

The wake will be held on Wednesday October 5, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at The Fortin Group, 70 Horton Street, Lewiston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston.
