Julia Adams Morse Library has received a $5,000 bequest from the estate of Bert and Betty Murch, longtime residents of Greene.

The Murch’s son, Robert, presented a check to the Trustees of the Library at a recent meeting. He noted his parents’ interest in the library and its history in the community. They also were supporters of youth athletics, donating land for the construction of a baseball field still in use today.

“This generous donation will allow us to expand our services, and encourage more people to take advantage of what the library has to offer,” Christine Gianopoulos, chair of the Library Trustees, said in a news release.
