DEAR SUN SPOTS: We’d like to make a correction to the date of our church fair. The United Methodist Church of Auburn will hold its annual church fair on Saturday, Nov. 19,  not Nov. 12, as previously published.

The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 489 Park Ave. Enjoy the country kitchen and purchase homemade beans, chili, meatballs, doughnuts and homemade pies. You can also shop for candy, crafts, vintage Cabbage Patch dolls, jewelry, fresh Maine wreaths, $5 surprise gift bags, white elephant goodies and more. — George, Auburn

ANSWER: I love how there is a different reason to check out all these fairs. Cabbage Patch Dolls? Maine wreaths? I like to taste all the homemade goodies myself. Mark your calendars for Nov. 19!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Ladies of Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International are bringing back their annual Teddy Bear Fair on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lewiston High School gym.

The Ladies of Mu are all educators, active and retired, from the Lewiston/Auburn area. Money generated by our fair goes to scholarships, one for a graduating senior from one of the high schools in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities, who plans to go into education; the other goes to a Delta Kappa Gamma member who is working on an advanced degree.

The Ladies of Mu will sell cookies, cakes, pies, bread, and an assortment of candies and pastries; used books and DVDs; white elephant items; harvest items such as jellies, jams, salsas, pickles; gently loved stuffed animals; crafts including knitted scarves, hats and mittens, and baby layettes, as well as kitchen towels and dishcloths; and holiday crafts including Christmas and Thanksgiving decorations.

We will also have a raffle table with handmade items, gift certificates for lobster and gas, a children’s craft basket, and many other treasures. We hope many will come see us and support our efforts to raise scholarship money. — Angela, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lisbon United Methodist Church at 14 School St. in Lisbon Falls will hold its annual Holiday Fair and Silent Auction on Nov. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, a large bake sale, a wide selection of used books, and a silent auction will be offered.

We’re looking for a few people to rent a table to sell their own products. The tables are $20 for a 6-foot table. The fee will cover Friday evening and Saturday. If interested, or for more information, call the church at 353-4982 to leave a message or call 353-8579. — No name, Lisbon Falls
