Barbara Ross, author of the Maine Clambake Mysteries and the Jane Darrowfield Mysteries, is scheduled to give a presentation Wednesday, Oct. 19, during Vose Library’s annual Soup & Suspense event at 293 Common Road in Union.

The event will be held in person and via Zoom, according to a news release from Diane True, library assistant.

Soup will be ready at 6:30 p.m. with a suggested donation of $5, followed by the 7 p.m. presentation and Q&A.

Ross’ books have been nominated for multiple Agatha Awards for Best Contemporary Novel and have won the Maine Literary Award for Crime Fiction. The Portland resident’s Maine Clambake novellas are included along with stories by Leslie Meier and Lee Hollis in holiday anthologies from Kensington Publishing.

The in-person presentation and Zoom session are free. Copies of Ross’ books will be available for purchase at the presentation.


Even though this is an in-person event, participants can also pick up their soup to take home and view the presentation via Zoom.

Vose encourages all participants to drop off a can of soup to be donated to Come Spring Pantry.
