BETHEL — The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 81, of Bethel, is pleased to have presented Mrs. Ramona Grover with a Distinguished Service Award to commemorate her many years of service and support to the veterans in our community on Tuesday, October 11 at our Legion Hall.  Friends and family were present. Mrs. Barb Dion made the presentation.

Mona joined the American Legion Auxiliary in 1961 and became very active in the Auxiliary’s programs. She participated in numerous fund-raising activities and projects in support of veterans and their families. As a member, Mona has held many offices in the Auxiliary over 50 years, including President, Secretary and Treasurer – sometimes holding more than one office at a time. She served as Treasurer also for the Veterans Memorial of Bethel committee.

She has given encouragement to the Legion and the veteran community, unselfishly volunteering every Flag Day to see that all veterans’ graves were honored with a flag, attended State Legion Conventions many years and served on the Board of the Veterans Home in West Paris. Her exceptional commitment to God, Country, and all who serve our great nation is an inspiration to us all.  Members of Unit 81 look to Mona as an example of true patriotism.
