Sarah Jean McKinley

MECHANIC FALLS – Sarah Jean McKinley, 47, passed away Oct. 8, 2022 surrounded by her family, peacefully ending a three-year battle with cancer. She was born in Waterbury, Conn. on Sept. 4, 1975. She was the daughter of Margaret McKinley and William McKinley of Wolcott, Conn.

Her family settled in the Oxford area when she was a young child. She attended schools in that area and went to Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School as well as Central Maine Community College.

Sarah worked as an educational technician for Elm Street School in Mechanic Falls. Students and staff loved her and will greatly miss her. She loved helping the children and cared for them.

Sarah had a beautiful smile and laugh. She loved being with her kids and they will always have her heart. Her children were her greatest source of purpose and she couldn’t have been prouder.

Sarah met her husband, Ken Halmos in 1999 and lived in Mechanic Falls.

She was predeceased by her father and mother.

Survivors include her husband; her daughter, Samantha Halmos, her son, Peyton Halmos; and sisters Linda Frost and Mary Beckett; and nephews and nieces; and extended family. She loved her family dearly.

A Celebration of Life is planned at the Tripp Lake Camp at 132 Tripp Lake Camp Rd. in Poland on Oct. 23 from 12 to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Come and go as you please to offer condolences, memories and laughs. We know how much Sarah loved to laugh.
