LEWISTON — Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District plans to host its annual U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Local Working Group Meeting from 9:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 26.
The meeting will be held at the USDA Office, 254 Gooddard Road in Lewiston.
The district seeks input from landowners, woodlot owners and farmers who are interested in applying for NRCS funding next year to accomplish larger projects and that are good for the environment. The district also seeks participation in deciding how money is distributed throughout Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties, according to a news release from the district.
This meeting is open to the public. The 2023 USDA NRCS programs will be discussed, and decisions on where to prioritize funding for the Environmental Quality Incentive Program in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties will be made.
This is a time to learn about new NRCS cost-share programs and meet other local residents who want to protect natural resources in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc counties.
Food and drinks will be provided by the district.
Registration is requested but not required. To register, contact the district at 207-241-5374 or [email protected].
