BIDDEFORD – Dixon D. Griffin , 84 of Biddeford, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at Southern Maine Health Center.

He was born in Plymouth, N.H., on April 8, 1938, to Ralph and Marth (Marble) Griffin. After graduating High School in Dixfield, he graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.S. Economics in 1960. He then went on to attend Babson College to earn his M.B.A. in 1962.

He worked for many years as a Vice President at United Timber in Dixfield, was the owner of a Closettec & Impact Designs for five years and was the Corporate Controller for Marden’s Inc. Upon retiring from Marden’s, he moved to Trinidad and Tobago where he lived for 19 years until returning to Maine.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He held the State of Maine record for the largest Brook Trout for many years. While at Bowdoin he played hockey and was the team co-captian his senior year.

He is survived by his sister Deborah Stewart and her husband, James of Weld; a daughter Kelly Moorehead of Centerville, Mass.; a daughter Terry Blanchard and her husband, Corey, of Biddeford; a son Dixon Griffin Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Reno, Nev.; and eight grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Marth Griffin and a sister, Dorothy Rouleau.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2023.
