Wesley S. Lucas
BUCKFIELD – Wesley S. Lucas, 62, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2022. He was born in Lewiston, on Feb. 12, 1960, the son of Weldon S., and Esther M. (Stevens) Lucas. Wes attended Buckfield High School. He worked as a farm hand for Milton Warren Farm, as a Sanitation Engineer at DeCoster Egg Farm. He has been a longtime employee of Goodwin Well and Water, working as a Pump Installer since 1986.
In his younger years Wes enjoyed roller skating at Bear Pond and Happy Wheels and was an excellent skater. Wes had an immense knowledge of many things whether it be plumbing, solar, heating, mechanical, geo-thermal or building construction. He had an admirable work ethic and was interested in all things that involved hard work.
Wes achieved his lifelong dream of building his own house, off grid, utilizing solar power. He was a member of the Black Mountain ATV club. He enjoyed his “toys” – all things machinery related whether it be tractors, excavators, lawn mowers, four wheelers, trucks or anything else with an engine. His favorite color was orange, “Kubota orange”.
Wes is survived by his wife Barbara Renee Lucas, daughter Amanda Conant and her husband Andrew, siblings, Eugene Lucas, Linda Libby and her partner Sheldon Clapper, Connie Irish and her husband Ken, Alfred Lucas and his partner Julie Bergeron, Weldon Lucas and his wife Rhonda, aunt Deanna Berry and her husband David, nieces and nephews Rae-Jean, Dennis, David, Paul, Gene, Jeremy, Rachelle, and Evan. He was predeceased by his parents, Weldon and Esther, sister Annie Heath, brother Weldon S. Lucas Jr, aunts Gloria Mcvay, and Irene White, and nephews Scott and Ryan.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 28,2022, at Damon Cemetery, North Buckfield Road, Buckfield. There will be a Celebration of Life following the service at the Evening Star Masonic Hall, 5 High Street, Buckfield.
