NORWAY — What is the most magical place in the town of Norway? Without a doubt, the Norway Memorial Library would have to be up near the top of the list. It is literally filled with thousands of stories – some true and some not, aka fiction and non-fiction – designed to interest readers of all ages. There are thought-provoking and engaging programs also for all ages. But is there something more that the library could be doing? What can our library do to meet the needs of future generations?

To help answer these questions, the Board of Trustees recently formed an ad hoc committee to develop a five-year strategic plan for the Norway Memorial Library. The Board is particularly interested in getting input from future users of the library, the children and youth of today. Therefore, the Board of Trustees of the Norway Memorial Library is pleased to announce a Writing Contest for Youth.

Children and youth are encouraged to submit their vision of the “Library of the Future” – What will it look like? What will you do there? What kinds of things will you learn? What do you hope it will be like? Entries may be in the form of an essay or a piece of artwork. Winners will receive a $25 gift certificate. There will be winners selected from 4 age categories: preK-3rd grade, 4th-6th grade, 7th-8th grade, 9th-12th grade.

All submissions must have a title, name and grade, and contestants may enter more than one submission. All submissions should be turned in at the Information Desk and must be received by Friday, November 12. Thank you for taking part in this adventure!
