The New Gloucester GOP is scheduled to host a charity dinner at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the First Congregational Church of New Gloucester, 19 Gloucester Hill Road.

Proceeds will help residents of New Gloucester with heating assistance.

“We have all felt the pain at the pump, but the pain our community will feel this winter with heating fuels will cripple many families. More of our neighbors may need heating assistance this winter season than in at any time in recent memory due to the continued high costs of heating fuels across the board. We recognize the immediate need within our community and have decided to spring to action,” said Karen Gilles, chair of the New Gloucester GOP.

In order to help this fundraiser be successful, donations are needed of either cash to purchase food for a spaghetti dinner, or in-kind donations. New Gloucester GOP is a 501(c) organization, so a donation is also tax deductible; a receipt for tax purposes will be provided.

All proceeds and donations not used to purchase the food and supplies will be given to the New Gloucester Congregational Church and earmarked specifically for New Gloucester residents and heating assistance.

To discuss in-kind donations, call 207-689-4881 and speak with Gilles.
