DEAR SUN SPOTS: It’s that time of year again. Christmas is sneaking up on us and here at Bolster Heights we need some gifts for our residents such as shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, deodorant, hair elastics, hair brushes and combs. We also need men’s and women’s pajama pants and T-shirts in all sizes, and of course, candy. Please call 784-1364 if you have any questions. We thank you and wish you all a great holiday. — Stacey, no town

ANSWER: The staff at this residential care facility asks for all of us in Sun Spots Land to be Santa’s helpers every year and I’m happy to put the word out. If you have other gift-giving ideas, I’m sure Stacey would like to hear about them. This is just a list of suggestions for what’s needed most by those who live there. The items can be dropped off at the facility at 26 Bolster St. in Auburn.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Ladies of Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International are bringing back its annual Teddy Bear Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Lewiston High School gym.

The Ladies of Mu are all educators, active and retired, from the Lewiston/Auburn area. Money generated by the fair goes to scholarships, one for a graduating senior from one of the high schools in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities who plans to go into education; the other goes to a Delta Kappa Gamma member who is working on an advanced degree.

We will also have a raffle table with handmade items, gift certificates for lobster and gas, a children’s craft basket, and many other treasures. We hope many will come see us and support our efforts to raise scholarship money. — Angela, no town

ANSWER: The craft fairs are abundant throughout November. I know these don’t happen by themselves and wish to thank everyone who does such a good job of organizing and making everything so pleasurable for all of us shoppers.
