David R. Foss

FARMINGTON – David R. Foss, 77, a resident of Jay, passed away on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. He was born in Livermore Falls on Dec. 17, 1944, the son of Roland “Happy” and Ruth (Rich) Foss.

He was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He proudly served in the US Army as an MP. After moving to Connecticut to work for Pratt & Whitney, he married and over the years he worked as an Oil Representative for several oil distribution companies. While living there he was very active coaching his children’s sports teams, enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, and skiing. After retiring he was able to move back and call Maine his home again.

He loved watching sports and was an avid fan of the Yankees and UConn.

He was predeceased by his parents. David is survived by his loving children, his daughter Lisa Foss of Pinellas Park, Fla., his sons Scott Foss of Belfast and Michael Perry of Livermore; his sisters Marilyn Rice of Derry, NH and Sharon Osborne of Exeter, NH, his brother Ted Foss of Durham; many nieces and nephews; and his loving and friendly cat Mickey.

A funeral service with full Military Honors will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the service at Finley Funeral Home. Interment at East New Portland Cemetery, School Street, New Portland, Maine.
