Jacques “Jake” Pellerin

BYRON – Jacques “Jake” Pellerin was the son of Rita and Henri Pellerin born in 1955 in Rumford. He attended Mexico High School until he earned his GED and joined the Navy in 1974.

After serving on the USS Nimitz for two and a half years, he returned to Mexico and married Tina Blodgett in 1982. Jake served the community as an auto tech repairman and eventually owned and operated Jake’s Garage in Rumford with his wife for 22 years. He was well known for helping people, and especially the elderly and French-speaking community members, with fair and honest advice and service. During this time, he raised four daughters, Jenifer, Caryn, Jaclyn, and Robyn with his wife Tina. Jake was involved in the community sharing his love of classic cars, car racing, ATV trail riding, and snowmobiling. He served in the Rumford Polar Bears Club, Slippery Sliders Roxbury and Byron Club, and the River Valley Riders ATV Club.

Jake is survived by his wife Tina; his daughters Jenifer, Caryn, Jaclyn, and Robyn; his grandchildren Isabelle, Mathilde, Krystina, James, and Mavis; and his siblings Louise, Colette, Suzanne, Gerard, Norman, and Francine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022 at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave, Rumford. Friends and family are invited to call at the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford, on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022 from 3-6 p.m.
