OXFORD – Kenneth N. Farrington Sr., 88, died on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at his home in Oxford. He was born in South Paris, on August 28, 1934, the son of James “Doc” and Inez (McAllister) Farrington.

Ken worked as Road Foreman at the Department of Transportation State of Maine. After working for the State of Maine for 35 years, he went on to work another nine years at his dream job as Director of the Northern Division of the NASCAR Busch Series. In 2006 he was inducted into the Maine Motor Sports Hall of Fame.

Ken did enjoy playing golf, and was a member at Paris Hill Country Club, but for the most part it was all about racing.

Ken is survived by his wife Phyllis; his son Kenneth Jr. and his wife Terry; grandkids, Molly Farrington, Jeremy Litchfield and wife Heidi, Kasey Farrington and partner Ben Libby; great-grandkids, Alyssa Litchfield, Cody Litchfield, Adilyn Litchfield, Jayden Knight, and Rachel Libby; sister Janice Bell. He was predeceased by his parents Doc and Inez; siblings Norman, Glen and Lois Niemi.
