Lewiston Public Works employee Devin Slaney, left, prepares to catch a string of lights Friday morning from co-worker Mike St.Pierre as they decorate a tree in Kennedy Park. Previously, the tree was lit by Santa during the city’s annual holiday celebration, but there will be none in Kennedy Park this year. Instead, the holiday event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Dufresne Plaza on Lisbon Street starting at 11 a.m., with the tree lighting and Menorah lighting at 4:30 p.m. The city is still looking for a 30-foot spruce to be donated. Events include ice skating, wagon rides, music, ice carving, food trucks, games, crafts, a live reindeer, giant snow globe and a visit from Santa. Russ Dillingham/Sun Journal
