In the return of a pre-pandemic tradition, the fifth graders at Auburn’s Saint Dominic Academy hit the road Oct. 25 to Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in Standish for “Are You Fitter Than a Fifth Grader?,” a day of obstacle courses, fitness games, nutrition trivia, and more.
Bethany Fox is a physical education teacher at St. Dom’s and a proud St. Joe’s alum who worked with the exercise science and health and wellness department at the college to organize the day, which promotes the importance of physical fitness and nutrition, according to a news release from Dave Guthro, communications director, Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland.
“It was such a fun day, and the kids were amazing,” said Fox.
