Kathryn F. Daniels
SOUTH PARIS – Kathryn F. Daniels, 86, passed away unexpectedly on Friday Nov. 4, 2022, during a brief rehab stay at the Market Square Health Care Facility. She was born Aug. 1, 1936, middle daughter of three to the late Hartley and Francis (Richardson) Ward. She attended and graduated from the West Paris school system.
Kay worked as a secretary for the University of Maine Extension Service for over 30 years, retiring at the age of 66.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and riding her favorite horse, Coy’s Impish Lady. 4-H was a large part of her life starting as a teenager participating as the first girl in the calf scramble at the Fryeburg fair. As a leader for over 45 years, Kay received a lifetime achievement award after her retirement.
She was predeceased by her loving parents Hartley and Francis (Ward) Dean, stepfather Floyd Dean, older sister Virginia Cyr, younger sister Gloria Hadley and longtime companion Roger Hadley.
Kay is survived by her loving family, son Danny Daniels and his wife Krista, daughter Kathy Estes and her husband Richard, grandchildren Heather Poussard and her husband Frank, Janice Taylor and her husband Jamie, Kylie Guy and her husband Luke, and Rick Estes and his wife Sara, along with 10 great children and 3 great great grandchildren.
In keeping with Kay’s wishes the family will greet friends on Saturday Nov. 12, 2022, from 12 – 1:30 p.m., a prayer service will start at 1:30 p.m., at the Oxford Hills Funeral Service, 1037 Main Street, Oxford with graveside services at Pleasant Valley Cemetery immediately following.
