LEWISTON – Eleanor I. Vining, 80, of Lewiston, passed away on Nov. 7, 2022, at Central Maine Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 14, 1942, the daughter of Ralph and Ola (Adams) Day. She graduated from South Paris High School and went on to run a daycare out of her home, worked at Twin City Printing, Cottles, Montello Heights, Hannaford in Auburn, Advertiser Democrat and ended her working career at CN Brown in Lewiston.
She married the love of her life, Donald R. Vining on Jan. 18, 1954, and together they raised three children. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, knitting, sewing, square dancing and reading, she did the Auburn Library book challenge five years in a row.
She is survived by her husband, daughter Rhonda and husband Marc Baillargeon of Minot, daughter Valerie and husband Richard Marble of West Melbourne, Fla., son Jeffrey Vining of Lewiston, three grandchildren Jonathan, William and Andrew, brother Stephen and wife Charlene Day of Otisfield, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at 2 p.m., at Elmwood Cemetery in Otisfield. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
