James Alred Jordan

AUBURN – James Alred Jordan passed away at Androscoggin Hospice House on Nov. 5, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

James was born May 14, 1952, the youngest son of Alred and Josephine (Foster) Jordan.

Jim worked in the security and construction industry most of his life. Jim proudly enlisted in the United States Army from 1968-1971. Jim enjoyed hunting, bingo and the casino. Many fun trips to the Bangor Casino were made with April, Alma and Tammy. He spoke of this often.

One of Jim’s fondest memories was the moose hunt with nephews Jared and Ben. So many laughs came from that big adventure, he had the time of his life on that trip.

Jim had a gentle, kind way about him that you couldn’t help but love. This past year’s long battle with liver cancer showed what he was made of. He still kept a great attitude saying, “even if you’re miserable, there’s no point making everyone else miserable too.”

Recently Jim enjoyed fish, lobster and clams provided by Mike, Chad, Justin, C.J. and Dustin.

He looked forward to foot rubs every night by Alma and her cooking.

He enjoyed his visits with Elaine, Mike, Ann and his lifelong friend Irving Hall. He loved visits with his grandsons.

James is survived by his wife April of 23 years. Daughters Janna Buck (Dan Langlois), Shyanne Buck (Chad Verrill), Brother Michael Jordan (Elizabeth), sisters Elaine Damon and Alma Jordan-Peer (Thomas), mother and father in-law Janette and Jesse Pierce, grandsons Carson and James, brother in-law John Pierce (Amanda), sisters in-law Wanda and Linda, and many nephews and nieces. James was pre-deceased by his parents Alred and Josephine Jordan, Brother William Jordan, Brother Arthur Jordan, Brother in-law Elwood Damon, nephew Todd and infant niece Lisa.

Our family would like to thank April for the loving care she provided. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you to Buckfield Rescue for the many times they cared for Jim. Thank you to Androscoggin Hospice for your help and to the Buckfield Mall for your support.

Jim so appreciated the Go Fund Me to help with expenses last year. He would cry every time I told him of a donation saying that he didn’t realize how many good people are left in this world.

Thank you to all our friends and family for all the support and prayers, we appreciate all of you.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, November 12, from 12–2 p.m., at the Masonic Hall in Buckfield with a military graveside service at 2:30 p.m., at Damon Cemetery in Buckfield.

Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with his family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
