Douglas R. Nolin
MINOT – Douglas R. Nolin, 79, of Minot, died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 with family by his side.
He is survived by his son Thomas D. Nolin (Tricia) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; daughters Julie A. Nolin (Donald Langelier) of Lewiston and Shelby K. Winslow of Auburn; and his seven grandchildren Tanner, Adeline, Bella, Alexa, Olivia, Jack and Noah. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers Daniel Nolin (Christine) of Winterport, and James Nolin (Stephanie) of Greene.
Doug was born Nov. 28, 1942, to Bertrand and Germaine Nolin of Auburn. He was educated in Auburn schools. After graduating from Edward-Little High School in 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, served in Korea, and returned to Auburn. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1967.
Doug worked for many years as a millwright for the Local 407 carpenter/millwright union. As a mechanically inclined handyman and life-long automobile enthusiast, Doug was constantly tinkering in his garage on cars and anything with an engine. He loved stock car racing, regularly watched NASCAR and was a frequent spectator at Oxford Plains Speedway.
Doug was predeceased by his parents, his sister Marlene Charpentier, his brothers Michael Nolin and Thomas Nolin, and his son-in-law Alfred Winslow.
A memorial service will be held at East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Avenue, Auburn, on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at 10 a.m.
